212pp. 50 black white illustrations throughout text. Green cloth-covered boards with block decoration, lettering and picture of Alice and Humpty Dumpty on front. Boards very slightly discoloured on edges, consistent with long shelf-wear. Card and gift inscription on paste-down front endpaper. Occasional foxing on pages which have a hint of tanning to edges. The dust jacket is sad: a portion is missing from the base of the spine and it has been inexpertly and extensively repaired with tape, but it has served its purpose of keeping the beautifully decorated boards clean and John Tenniel's cover picture of Alice talking to the Queen is in tact and unspoilt.
