xx, 200pp. B/w plate illustrations. Genealogical tables. Indexed. Black cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering to spine. DJ very lightly bumped at edges. Neat, clean, bright and tight volume. Occasional scattering of annotations in margins, not affecting text, else near fine. The Yorkist dynasty included the most notorious king in English history, Richard III, and one of the most tragic, his nephew Edward V, one of the two princes in the Tower. Crawford examines the characters of the Yorkist kings and members of their families, looking particularly at the truths behind the Shakespeare plays which immortalised them in popular culture.
