Elegantly bound in full panelled calf skin with gilt detail and decoration, five raised bands to spine with black leather title label, bevelled edges and inner blind dentelles. All page edges marbled, with matching marbled endpapers. Boards scuffed and rubbed at edges, heavily so on corners which are worn through. Sunned spin, with small tear in leather at head and some. Previous owner's inscription dated 1884 on half-title page, else internally, fresh, clean and bright. An exceptionally lovely yet practical copy of this well-known but essential work. Small 8vo.
