Not dated but c 1880-1890. Olive cloth-covered boards with decorative impressions in black and gold leaf. 12mo. AEG (all edges gilt). 241pp. Single volume containing The Good-Natured Bear and Horne's only other popular story for children, The London Doll (not mentioned in title). The first story has 16 full plate woodcut illustrations by the Dalziel Brothers, together with numerous vignettes in text and other page decorations. The London Doll has a separate title page and a further 3 full page woodcut illustrations by different artists. Boards a little rubbed and worn at edges but neat and clean. Slightly shaken. Previous owner's inscription on front free endpaper. A few marks on pages but mostly clean and tidy. 0
