Deep toned endpapers (previous owner's attractive bookplate inside front cover indicating the volume once belonged to one Ellen Gilbertson). Gift inscription on bastard title page, dated May 1892. Boards a little rubbed at edges and a couple of small mild marks. Top edge dust marked, else a really nice vintage copy of this classic Meredith novel.
