Not dated but certainly published between 1865 and 1906 - the first date being the first year the publisher used the name George Routledge and Sons, the latter being the date of a prize plate inside the front cover. Prize plate indicates that the volume was awarded to Elsie Hart for good attendance at North Finchley Council School in June 1906. Red cloth boards, decorated and illustrated to front and spine with coloured stamps, gilt titles (gilt blocked to spine) (a little rubbed and faded at edges) . Boards just a little rubbed at edges. Mildly tanned on page edges. Plate frontis by T C Tilney. Elizabeth Wetherelll was a pen name of the popular American author, Susan Bogert Warner 0
