xxviii, 514pp plus publisher's adverts at rear. Numerous illustrations throughout, largely by C Napier Henry and R T Pritchard. Brown buckram boards, decorated, with gilt titles and vignette on spine (boards a little rounded at corners, rubbed at spine tips, small indentation on leading edge). Decorated endpapers. Internally neat, clean, bright and tight. Endpapers have two inscriptions,"Lord Terence Browne, 1910" and Marquess of Sligo, 1951". Terence Browne was a younger son of Henry Ulick Browne, 5th Marquess of Sligo. He became the 9th Marquess upon the death of his unmarried elder brother in 1951, the year before his own death.
