[1944] 184pp. Red publisher's cloth boards (worn, marked and rubbed at edges, fraying at spine tips). Lending sheet on front endpaper but no other library markings. Well thumbed pages, some spotting, binding weak but holding. Old tape repairs around title page. This is a tatty copy. In its original pictorial dust jacket (rubbed and chapped at extremities, a few minor scuffs, heavy creasing on spine). Pollard, awarded the Victoria Cross, became a prolific author in later life; once popular many of his titles are now very hard to find, especially in their original dust jackets, although this particular title does turn up from time to time. Jacket fitted with archival-quality mylar wrapper to protect & prolong its life. It is not adhered to the book or to the jacket. 12mo
