The successor historical novel to Royal Twilight, it parallels the plot of that almost too closely, with fancy finery and tales of court conspiracy and counter-plot. This time it's the court of demented, debauched Christian of Denmark, where Drury, an Englishman, is sent to protect the former English princess-now Queen Caroline Matilda, who is in love with Struensee, the king's physician. 12mo
