The Girl's Own Paper was originally published by the Religious Tract Society and ran for many years, commencing in 1880. At this time it was published weekly and edited by Charles Peters. Later the paper became fortnightly and then monthly. This volume consists of 26 thirty-two page issues, from October 1904 to September 1905. Decorated endpapers and colour frontispiece portrait. Bound in green publisher's cloth, generously decorated, printed illustrations on front board and spine, and gilt titles. Bevelled edges. Boards rubbed at edges and worn around joints but still clean and attractive. Gift inscription on half title; further plates, some coloured, as called for, and with numerous black & white photo illustrations and line drawings throughout. A few marks on early pages only, and couple of leaves partially detached. A very handsome volume.
