306,[2]pp. Publisher's blue cloth boards (rubbed, a few surface marks, rounded at corners and spine ends, a little mottled especially on spine) with gilt titles on spine. Paper scuffed on front endpaper, scattered faint foxing, mainly on prelims. Huxley's most enduring work, a Connolly 100 title, and one of the 20th century's greatest dystopian novels. This is a good plus example. The first printing of the ordinary issue consisted of only about 15,000 copies (there was a simultaneous signed, limited edition). BLEILER, p.156; NEGLEY 602; SARGENT, p.98. BROMER A29.3.1. First printing of the ordinary issue (there was a simultaneous signed, limited edition).
