The Passionate Elopement (Signed and Inscribed)

Author's presentation copy. viii, 344pp. Blue cloth boards, blind ruled, with gilt lettering and embellishments (covers rubbed & a little soiled with some wear to extremes of spine, e.pp. split at hinges, else good). Some spotting. With a lengthy presentation inscription by the author, toJ H Crane, giving details of the number of copies sold at home and abroad, signed and date Feb 1937. There is also a note on the text, by Mackenzie, discussing an alteration made prior to publication and the date on which the story starts. Bookseller's card offering the book, in 1983, at �27.50, and clipped obituaries of the publisher, Martin Secker, laid in.
