1st edition, 1st printing. 278pp. Red cloth covered boards (sharp and bright, minor bump to rear lower corner). Internally neat and clean with bright pages, previous owner's inscription and bookstore stamp on front endpapers. In its original pictorial dust jacket by Frank Beck (a little worn, rubbed and bumped at edges and small stain on rear). Jacket fitted with archival-quality mylar wrapper to protect & prolong its life. It is not adhered to the book or to the jacket. A young Australian returns to his homeland after a visit to England in the late 19th century; but the star of the novel is his gay, rumbustious and unrepentant old father, whose colourful yarns of his adventures in the New South Wales outback at the turn of the century are wonderfully authentic if at times biased in his favour. A now hard to find title, especially in its original dust jacket.
