First edition, first impression (true first). 190pp. Black cloth boards with silver lettering on spine (boards a little rounded at corners and spine ends). Ex lending library, with stamp on title page (no other library markings). Name on the first page, and tape stains on endpapers. The front free endpaper is scuffed through (possibly from removal of a library lending sheet). In its original dust jacket, heavily rubbed at edges, worn, soiled on verso, frayed with minor loss at spine ends. Walter Smith is an ordinary man, non-entity, until he wins the Football Pools. His plans for his winnings are very different from the norm and lead him down a path involving dead bodies...a thriller written with dexterity. Jacket fitted with archival-quality Mylar wrapper fitted without the use of tape or adhesives. Very hard to find title.
