The autobiography of a descent of the American Astor dynasty who moved to Europe, the author's mother, Lady Nancy Astor becoming the first female MP in the Westminster House of Commons. His story covers being part of the 'Cliveden set' as a child, his war experiences with both the British and American forces in the Second World War and subsequently as he followed his mother's footsteps and became an MP.
