24pp booklet with stitched binding and printed card covers (covers worn and faded, a little soiled and rubbed at edges, especially corners, where there is some insignificant loss). Internally neat and clean, some evidence of fingering and light wear at page edges, some mild spotting, white marks inside front cover. A collection of statements made by local businessmen in the prosecution of the trial of Joseph Thackwray, another local businessman who, it was alleged, tried to divert the spa waters of Harrogate for his own purposes. Also a report on the trial itself. A rare survival from the time, now very hard to find.
