Unpaginated with dozens of truly magnificent engraved plate illustrations in colour and black and white throughout. Illustrated with 41 plates, 32 in colour (some early chromolithography, some rich with gold and silver, some hand-finished with additional colours, some folding out to give images larger than the page size, and 29 black & white illustrations in text. Rebound in 2002 in brown half leather over printed paper-covered boards, gilt lettering on spine. Pristine other than mild 5cm strip mark on verso. Significant water damage throughout on text pages but does not affect plates. Regardless, a stunning volume loving restored by an excellent book binder (Craft Print). 8vo.
