An extract of the minutes of the 1798 Lent Assizes at York, concerning the trial and conviction of Peter Buck, a tanner, accused of robbing Richard Terry, a local Banker, of a substantial amount of money and a book, the case being heard before Mr Justice Rooke. The crime took place near the village of Farnham, close to Knaresborough, in Yorkshire. Includes a series of witness statements, as well as the allegations and Buck's defence. Buck was sentenced to death by hanging.
