58pp brochure containing an extensive history of Harrogate and its surroundings, aimed at the visiting tourist, and packed full of contemporary advertisements for local businesses and services. Appears in style consistent with publication around 1910 but the proliferation on telephone numbers in the business advertisements suggests it may be slightly later. The history starts in the reign of King John who, with his Queen visited the area in pursuit of sport and covers extensively the discovery and development of Harrogate's spring waters and spaws. Black and white illustrations. Large 8vo.
