First edition, first printing. 60pp. Bordered pages with attractive head and tail pieces. Stitch bound, printed card covers (covers a little soiled and chipped at edges, especially along backstrip). Title page has a few marks and some curious, patchy fading, else internally remarkably bright and fresh. Thomas Blackah (1826-1895), a working miner from Greenhow Hill, was an accomplished poet, writing in his native Nidderdale, Yorkshire dialect as well as English. This collection of his dialect poems was published in 1867. He also wrote and published for some years a dialect almanack, T' Nidderdill Oliminac, under the pseudonym of Nattie Nydds. His work is considered culturally important, not least for the contribution it make to the development of the Yorkshire identity. Very hard to find title.
