2nd or 3rd Edition. 78pp (numerous blanks at rear), with engraved frontispiece showing Knaresborough Castle. In a later, likely late 19th century binding, half leather over marbled boards. Front board detached, and others otherwise scuffed and worn. Internally neat, clean, bright and tight barring a little age toning. Hargrove's history and guide to Knaresborough its surroundings was a best seller in its time. The first edition appeared 1769 and it ran through to at least seven editions, with the latter coming out in 1832. The fourth edition can be dated to 1789, so this volume, dated 1775 must be either the second or third edition.
