Not dated but likely c 1900. 338pp plus publisher's catalogue bound in at rear. Tissue-guarded colour plate frontispiece and further monochrome plate illustrations. Title page printed in red and black. Green cloth pictorial boards with picture printed over in black, while and gilt on front and spine; gilt lettering (boards very slightly rubbed at corners and very slightly crushed at spine ends; mild spotting on text block edge). Prize presentation plate on front paste down indicating that the book was awarded to one Thomas H Jane for good attendance at the Wheal Busy United Methodist School in 1914; small bookseller's embossed stamp on front free endpaper, showing the book was purchased from Charles Martin, bookseller, in Redruth, else internally neat, bright and clean. c.8 inches tall.
