First English edition. 128pp, illustrated in colour and black and white. Nicely illustrated endpapers. Blue paper-covered boards, illustrated (a little rubbed at edges, slightly faded). Internally a hint of toning and a couple of tiny scars on endpapers. In its original worn dust jacket, chipped at edges and tape repairs at spine ends. A history of the development of porcelain manufacture in Europe, including the rivalries between the different china works which often led to law suits and bribery. Exciting told, illuminating history. Square 8vo.
