Not dated, c.1880. Green cloth boards, bevelled edges, elaborately decorated with black and gilt gold stamp and embossing on front and spine. All edges gilt (Boards a little rubbed on corners and spine tips). Previous owner's name, in copperplate script, on front free endpaper and gutter cracked between front endpapers. Portrait frontispiece (some minor spotting). A beautiful, evocative volume, text reprinted from the original editions and with some explanatory notes.
