Not dated but c. 1940s. 188pp, illustrated frontispiece and 16 further full page line drawing illustrations, all by George Wright. Red cloth-covered boards (rubbed and faded at edges, marked, sunned spine, cloth cracked/broken on rear spine joint). Two previous owner's names on front paste down, endpapers a little tanned, and tiny corner crease on front free endpaper. Very occasional mild spotting on a few pages. Felt tip? mark on rear endpapers. Charming story of a dog and his friends and foes. Once a popular tale, now becoming uncommon.
