In blue cloth-covered boards, extensively decorated with blind embossing and gilt decorations and lettering on front board and spine, AEG (all edges gilt. Extra, engraved title page. Engraved frontispiece. Monochrome plate illustrations and occasional page decorations. (Boards worn, rubbed on edges, rounded at corners and spine ends; internally generally neat, clean, bright and tight, barring a small water mark affecting the frontispiece and first title page and hint of toning.) Abbott was a prolific American writer of juvenile stories.
