128pp. In red cloth-covered boards with faded gilt titles on spine (boards a little worn all over, rubbed around spine, with some black marks on verso). Front free endpaper absent and a little page toning, else internally neat and clean. A good reading/working copy. J E Harold Terry (1885-1939) was a successful playwright in London prior to March, 1917, when his war comedy, General Post, opened at the Haymarket Theatre in London. It was immediately successful, running for 532 performances. General Post was described in newspapers at the time as 'a delightful story of snobbery repentant.' The play did not offend the aristocrats since the lessons for snobbery are cleverly inserted and proved to be amusingly delivered. A now hard to find title.
