Not dated but circa 1910. xvi, 17-348pp, [4], with 50 examples of picture of the early Italian artists to the present day and 165 drawings by the author. In green cloth boards with gilt lettering on spine (boards a little discoloured at extreme edges, rubbed and rounded on corners and spine tips). Internally, endpapers a little tanned, else neat, clean, bright and tight. In its original edge worn and chipped dust jacket with minor scar near top edge and short closed tears at spine tips). An attractive and pleasing vintage volume, described in a contemporary review as a 'monumental book...we have not only letterpress but we have the information illustrated in the most wonderful fashion.
