Not dated but circa 1930. 256pp. Colour plate frontispiece with further black and white plates and drawings throughout. Decorated endpapers. In pale blue cloth covered boards with darker blue titles and vignette on front (boards are strong, square and clean, just a little bubbled and rubbed and rounded at corners and spine tips). Elegant prize presentation plate on front free endpaper, indicating the volume was presented to Barbara Howell by Lout Road Methodist Sunday School in 1943, else neat, clean, bright and tight throughout. A selection of verse and prose from the likes of Henry Williamson, Rudyard Kipling, Lord Tennyson, Walt Whitman, Joseph Addison, Gladys Wynne, Matthew Arnold, Eleanor Scott, Lord Bryon, Wordsworth, etc.
