230pp, with numerous full page line drawings, vignettes and page decorations by the author. In red cloth-covered boards with gilt lettering, top edge sprayed red (boards are strong, square and bright, just gently rounded at corners and spine ends). Internally neat, clean and tight, barring a hint of toning on endpapers only. There's a small bookseller's ticket on the front endpaper, indicating the volume was once in the stock of Barker and Howard, Booksellers on Fenchurch Street in London. Previous owner's name on front free endpaper. Issued as part of Macmillan's Young People's series. In its original dust jacket (very slightly rubbed at edges). The dust jacket is now protected in an archival quality Mylar wrapper, fitted without the use of tape or adhesives.
