Internally a few signs of fingering, else neat and bright. Almost very good condition, but not quite. 4to. Drawing on literary, representational and archaeological sources ranging from Trajan's Column to the graffiti on sling shots found scattered on battle sites, this work brings together all the current information on the origin and evolution of the weapons of legions, auxiliaries and cavalry from the start of the Roman Republic to the decline of the Empire.
