Internally neat, clean, bright and tight throughout. Folio. A facsimile reproduction of Elgar's manuscript, held by the Royal College of Music in London. Issleris states that 'this facsimile allows us into Elgar's studio, to see the master at work. One only need glance at the subtle differences in markings between the first statement of the opening phrase and its reprise at the end of the work, or the slight variations between the indications over the repeated broken phrases in the introduction... to see how much care Elgar took over each and every marking'. A deluxe, handsomely produced volume. A large and heavy book which will likely incur an additional charge for overseas delivery.
