Three stapled booklets, relating the employment with DCL (Distiller Company Limited, the company founded in 1877 as Scotch whisky distillers and blenders. The first, 'A Career with DCL', 32pp stapled booklet in blue card wrappers, illustrated, 8vo (wrappers edge worn, indented and slightly soiled, some pencil writing on back cover, internally neat, clean, bright and tight) sets out a career path and company expectations for those joining the industrial chemicals side of the company in the 1950s. The second, 'Study While You Work : DCL Education Scheme for Unqualified Technical Employees' , 6pp stapled booklet in orange card wrappers, 8vo (wrappers a little edge worn, lightly chipped along spine, internally neat, clean, bright and tight), sets out the company's scheme enabling unqualified technicians to gain recognised qualifications while working, with DCL support etc. The third, 'The DCL and Associated Companies Pension Scheme : Staff Employees' 4pp stapled booklet in orange card wrappers, 12mo (wrappers a little indented all over, slightly edge worn, internally neat, clean, bright and tight, dated 1955, sets out the pension scheme for DCL employers and includes updated from 1956). Together they provide a rich insight into DCL's philosophy of employment and a fascinating insight into DCL history, prior to its takeover by Guinness PLC in the 1980s.
