1st edition. vi, [2], 391pp, [3]. With 23 (of 24) hand-coloured plate engravings. Rebound, in strong brown cloth with gilt titles on spine (just a little rubbed on corners, slightly rounded at spine tips). Immaculate replacement endpapers; bookplate on front paste down, and bookbinder's label. Previous owner's name on verso of original frontispiece. The title page has some mild damage around edges, toned in places, and the next couple of leaves have some signs of fingering. One plate is torn, with some loss; and one plate absent, else internally very neat, clean, bright and tight. A lovely volume, pleasingly robust, volume sadly missing one illustration. 8vo.
