Undated but circa 1910. viii, 352pp, with eight plate illustrations all by Edward Read. In publisher's trade binding, illustrated green cloth binding with images front and spine. 12mo. Gently rubbed on corners, spine joints and tips, a couple of small marks. Prize presentation plate on the front paste down, indicating the volume was once awarded to H Reed in 1914. A little spotting on prelims, else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. Chapters on Admiral Nelson, James Outram, David Livingstone, Governor Eyre, Sir Richard Burton etc.
