256pp, with monochrome plate frontispiece, portraits and diagrams throughout. Red cloth-covered boards, with gilt titles on spine. 8vo. Light rubbing to edges of boards with corners and spine ends lightly rounded and some fading to the spine and area of light discolouration to the front board, small indentation on upper edge. Endpapers moderately toned and some occasional light foxing throughout text block, more marked on frontispiece. Previous owner's inscription on front free endpaper. Clean and tight.
