1st UK edition. xxiii, 394pp with a black and white portrait illustration of Honore De Balzac. Green cloth-covered boards with navy blue titles on the spine. 8vo. Book slightly skewed, rounding of the corners and minor bumping to the bottom edge of book and spine tail. Slight rubbing to spine head. Text block edges are tanned with some stains to the fore edge. Some tanning to the front and rear free endpapers, otherwise neat, clean tight and bright. Dust jacket is heavily tanned with some staining to the front of dust jacket. There are some short tears around the spine head with some loss. Some rubbing to the top edge and corners with minor loss.
