An apparent first edition, in a book club edition dust jacket. 218pp. In black boards with lettering on spine, top edge sprayed red. Boards very slightly rounded at corners, hint of toning on endpapers, else neat, clean, bright and tight throughout. In its original dust jacket (jacket is worn and faded, chipped on edges and folds, sunned on spine, stained on verso, with a few strange small holes near the top right corner on the verso, but essentially complete). A mystery thriller in which Inspector Schmidt and the ubiquitous Bagby find that blood often tells more than it should when they meet in the Park Avenue group involved in the Basingstoke murders.
