192pp, 5pp black and white photographic plate (inc. frontispiece), map endpapers. Pale green boards; gilt design on front, gilt titles on spine; top text block edge sprayed green. 12mo. Discoloration along the spine, spine ends rubbed and sun-faded. Top text block edge spry fading, remaining edges foxing. Some slight discolorations and foxing on the endpapers, date (February 1947) in pen on half-title page but otherwise internally very neat, clean, bright and tight. Dust jacket has some chipping along the top and bottom edge with some small closed tears and small sections of loss around the spine ends, some tanning and staining on the interior. On Richard Jefferies (a nature writer). (foreword by Collins, Peter)
