1st edition, 1st printing. 150pp, with stunning colour plate frontispiece and numerous other line drawings and woodcut plates, all by Eric Fraser. In brown cloth-covered boards with gilt titles on spine. Top edge sprayed red. 8vo. Boards very slightly rounded on corners and at spine tips. Some mild toning on endpapers, else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. In its original colourful dust jacket, bumped along upper edge, lightly toned in places, a few short tears around head of spine with minor loss. England is a storied land, and this volume captures and retells some of those stories - stories of King Arthur, Robin Hood, Dick Whittington, Lady Godiva, English saints, demons, monsters and giants and many local legends.
