Light bumping to front top edge; rounded top rear corner. Scuffed and scratched lower front board. Dusty top text block edge, water stain; remaining edges foxing, starting to tan. Signature binding. Signed and inscribed by author on front free endpaper 'M. H. Goddard, from G. H. Lang. 24/3/45.' Endpapers foxing, starting to tan. Otherwise, internally neat, clean and bright, barring light foxing to prelims. Dust jacket has significant shelf wear, chipping, loss and previously poorly fitted.
