First edition. 332pp. Brown cloth-covered boards, silver titles on spine. 12mo. Spine and front board sun-faded, spine ends lightly bumped, white mark on rear board, label on front board. Text block edges and endpapers moderately foxed and tanning. Internally pages are lightly tanned with the occasional spotting, otherwise a neat, clean, bright and tight volume. Angela Thirkell's twenty-ninth Barsetshire book was unfinished on her death. C. A Lejuene, who had often discussed the characters with their creator picks up the threads of the story and adds a few of her own.
