xvi, 120pp, black and white photographic tissue-guarded frontispiece, 10 black and white illustrations. Red cloth-covered spine with gilt titles on front and spine. 12mo. Sun-faded spine, moderately rubbed and rounded spine ends. Water stain on front. Corners lightly rubbed and rounded. Text block edges untrimmed, dusty top edge, remaining edges tanned. Endpapers moderately foxed and tanned, previous owner's label on front pastedown and front free endpaper. Frontispiece is detached from spine (laid-in), gutter cracked towards front. Internally pages are age toned, otherwise neat, clean and bright. A compact compendium of Arbroath's unwritten chronicles.
