1st thus, 1st printing. 36pp. Text in German. In quarter parchment binding. Title label and gilt times on front. 8vo. Boards are a little rubbed all over, spine gently sunned. Internally, some neat pencil notes about the volume on the front paste down, otherwise neat, clean, bright and tight. Printed in Koch Antiqua, the first typeface developed by German type designer and master of lettering, calligraphy and typography, Rudolf Koch (1876-1934). The first page of the text was reproduced in The Fleuron (volume v, page 16), the British Journal of Typography published in seven volumes between 1923 and 1951. Published on the occasion of Walter von zur Westen's 50th birthday, to whom the volume is dedicated. Westen (1871-1948) led the German bookplate movement, as its Chairman for some 26 years.
