1st edition, 1st impression. 308pp, plus numerous black and white plate illustrations. In blue cloth-covered boards with gilt titles on spine. Top edge sprayed blue, all other edges deckled. 8vo. Boards gently rubbed at edges, a little rounded on corners and spine ends. Some spotting on text block edges and prelim pages. Previous owner's name on front free endpaper. Pages a little creamy, else internally neat and clean. In its original dust jacket, slightly bumped at edges, and protected in a Brodart-style wrapper. An uncommon title, contain much of Cockerell's correspondence with over 60 people including the likes of Thomas Hardy, Charles Ricketts, T E Lawrence, Ruskin, Octavia Hill etc.
