First English edition. 250pp. Tan cloth-covered boards; black titles on spine. 12mo. Sun-faded and lightly soiled spine. Lightly bumped, chipped, rubbed and fraying spine ends. Dusty top text block edge, remaining edges tanned, just starting to fox. Front free endpaper removed. Endpapers lightly tanned; minor water to top edge damage of front pastedown. Previous owner's name and tanning to first blank page. Internally neat, clean, bright and tight. Numerous black and white caricatures of "literary idols of modern France" in text throughout.
