First edition. x, 276pp, copiously illustrated mostly with black and white photographic images. Quarter-bound in black cloth over blue cloth-covered boards with white titles on front panel and spine. 4to. Boards are worn, rubbed and rounded at corners and spine tips, faded around all edges, with a few marks and spots and a mottled spine. Upper text block edge a little dusty. Endpapers a little toned, especially around the hinges, and there's a neat ownership stamp of the RAF Manston Spitfire and Hurricane Memorial Trust on the front free endpaper, a few spots, else internally neat, clean and tidy. A magnificent and detailed record of the first 50 years of the United States Airforce.
