First edition. vi, 50pp, with numerous black and white illustrations. In red cloth-covered boards with black titles. Slim 8vo. Boards a little rubbed on edges, rounded on corners and spine tips, small mark on front panel. Library stamp and bookplate on front endpapers, lending pocket and remains of stamp sheet on rear endpapers, call numbers on copyright page, else internally neat, clean and bright. In its original worn and torn dust jacket, toned with minor loss around spine tips. Sets out, for those familiar with the topic, the basic principles underlying the operation of gas turbines and argues for their relative merits as compared to the diesel engine.
