48pp, with central section of colour illustrations. In laminated card covers, stapled. 12mo. A little toning on rear cover, else appears in as new condition throughout. Booklet published by MK in October 1976 outlining the history and then current background to the proposed International Plug and Socket system. Covers progress from 1966, a summary of the situation in 1976 and outlines specifications of the proposed new international system. Central section has several colour plates of plugs in use at the time from various countries and a model of the proposed system. The proposed system was not adopted but provides a fascinating insight into the need for one and for the factors for consideration and resistances, giving picture of the state of electrical engineering and its politics at the time. Most of the plugs and sockets depicted are still in use.
