416pp, with a tissue-guarded sepia photograph frontispiece. Blue cloth-covered boards; embossed decorations on front, spine and rear, gilt initials on front, gilt titles on spine. 8vo. Spine has a ripple in the cloth and ends rubbed. Corners rubbed and lightly rounded. Text block edges foxing and tanning, top edge untrimmed. Very cocked. Endpapers tanning and lightly foxed, front free endpaper has had the top right corner removed. Foxing on title page, adjacent page and tissue-guard. Internally neat, clean, bright and tight. Dust jacket spine sun-faded, creased and worn with chipping and <9cm closed tears at the ends, some small sections of loss at the head, tape adhered to the edges; covers have shelf wear to the edges and folds with chipping and <3cm closed tears at the corners; interior has more tape adhered to the spine edges.
